Scale of pay:
Pay Band 1 with Pay Scale: Rs 12000 to 52000, Grade Pay: Rs 3900
Age Limit:
The candidates should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years of age as on 01/01/2025.
Educational Qualification:
The educational qualification shall be minimum Class VIII passed and maximum HSSLC/ Class 12 or equivalent examination passed. Candidates with higher educational qualification are not eligible to apply.
Other Criteria of APSC Recruitment:
Citizenship:
Candidates must be Indian Citizens as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
Residentship:
(i) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
(ii) The candidate must produce PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose/ Employment Exchange Registration certificate as proof of residency along with the online application form.
Age Relaxation:
The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.
• SC: 5 years
• ST: 5 years
• OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years

Employment Exchange Registration:
Candidates must be registered themselves in any of the employment exchanges of Assam.
Small Family Norms:
The candidates have to submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A at the time of applying for the post.

Selection Process of APSC Grade IV Posts:
The selection process of APSC Grade IV Posts consists of following 2 (two) phases
Phase-I (Screening Test):
The Commission will conduct a screening test of OMR based Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) to shortlist suitable candidates. The test will be conducted over a period of two (2) hours and will encompass a total of 100 marks. The questions will be aligned with the academic standards typically expected at the Class VI, VII, and VIII levels. The subject, syllabus, duration and marks are as follows:

i) Arithmetic: 20 marks
ii) G.K (Assam specific): 20 marks
iii) Reasoning: 20 marks
iv) Social Science: 20 marks
v) Science: 10 marks
vi) Elementary English: 10 marks
Phase-II (Interview):
On the basis of the performance in Phase-I, candidates will be called for interview (Phase-II) taking into the consideration the category-wise reservation in the ratio 1:5.
